Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation Commissioner Rahul Meena inspected the Solid Waste Processing Centre at Lalacheruvu and emphasized the need for proper vermicompost production practices to convert organic waste into valuable resources. He directed officials to ensure wet waste collected from households and market areas is processed efficiently into organic manure, promoting sustainable waste management and resource recovery.
The Commissioner also suggested involving MEPMA to provide training and livelihood opportunities for women through the vermicomposting unit. During the inspection, he reviewed sanitation works and ordered a show-cause notice to the concerned Sanitary Inspector for negligence in road sweeping and absence from duty, warning that lapses in service delivery would not be tolerated.
