Nara Lokesh to Lay Foundation Stone for ₹5,350 Crore Tata Power Renewable Energy Project

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh is set to take another major step toward becoming a renewable energy hub as Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics Nara Lokesh will lay the foundation stone for an 800 MW clean energy project at Pattikonda on Thursday, July 30.

The project, to be developed by Tata Power Renewable Energy, involves an investment of ₹5,350 crore and will be established across Anantapur and Kurnool districts.

The initiative is part of the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Clean Energy Policy – 2024, under which the state government aims to position Andhra Pradesh as a leading destination for renewable energy investments. A key focus of the policy is to develop Rayalaseema into a major clean energy hub.

Over the past two years, the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, has been actively promoting large-scale renewable energy projects in the region. Minister Nara Lokesh has also played a key role in attracting investments in the clean energy sector.

Earlier, major renewable energy projects by ReNew Power and SAEL Mega Solar were launched in Rayalaseema. The upcoming Tata Power Renewable Energy project is expected to further strengthen the state's clean energy capacity, attract fresh investments, generate employment opportunities, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
