Amaravati to Host India's First Integrated Precision Oncology Cancer Centre

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh has taken a significant step toward strengthening its healthcare infrastructure by signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies AstraZeneca India, Strand Life Sciences, and CureAI. The agreements were signed in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

As part of the collaboration, Amaravati will become home to India's first Integrated Precision Oncology Centre. AstraZeneca India will establish an Integrated Genomic Solutions Centre that will provide advanced genomic testing and biomarker testing services, particularly for patients with lung and breast cancer.

The initiative is expected to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment by enabling faster, more accurate, and personalized medical care. Precision oncology combines genomic analysis with advanced diagnostics to help doctors choose the most effective treatment for individual patients.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said the government's objective is to provide world-class healthcare facilities at affordable costs to the people of Andhra Pradesh. He also emphasized the need to promote quantum-level research in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors to make the state a hub for medical innovation.

Healthcare experts believe the collaboration will significantly strengthen Andhra Pradesh's medical research ecosystem while improving access to cutting-edge cancer care and positioning Amaravati as a national centre for precision medicine.
