Mangalagiri, Andhra Pradesh: The redeveloped Mangalagiri Railway Station is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 17, marking a significant milestone under the Government of India's ambitious Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS). The station has been modernized at an estimated cost of ₹12.56 crore, transforming it into a contemporary passenger hub with world-class amenities.

As part of the redevelopment project, the existing station building has been completely revamped with a modern architectural design, giving it a corporate-style appearance. To improve passenger convenience and ease congestion, a second entry has been constructed, providing better access to the station.

The upgraded station now features modern booking counters, digital passenger information displays, spacious waiting halls, and a dedicated VIP lounge. The station entrance has also been enhanced with attractive landscaping, creating a welcoming environment for passengers and visitors.

Passenger comfort has been further improved through the modernization of platforms, upgraded restrooms, comfortable seating arrangements, and clear directional signage. Additionally, new platform shelters have been constructed on Platforms 1 and 4, ensuring better protection for passengers during all weather conditions.

Special emphasis has been placed on accessibility. The station now includes two elevators, ramps, tactile pathways for the visually impaired, and dedicated accessible toilets, making travel more convenient for persons with disabilities.

The redevelopment also includes a spacious parking area, dedicated pedestrian pathways, and modern street lighting, enhancing both safety and convenience. Adding a unique cultural touch, the station walls have been adorned with beautiful paintings and artwork showcasing the rich heritage, traditions, and cultural identity of the Mangalagiri region.

Railway officials highlighted that Mangalagiri is the only NSG-4 category railway station located closest to the Amaravati Capital Region, making it an important transportation hub for the state's administrative capital. With its comprehensive modernization, the station is expected to significantly improve passenger experience while enhancing the operational efficiency of railway services in the region.

The redevelopment of Mangalagiri Railway Station reflects the Government of India's continued commitment to modernizing railway infrastructure, improving passenger amenities, and strengthening connectivity across the country through the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
